EMERGENCY SERVICES

If you wake up one day and find that your vision is significantly decreased from the the day before or you see a something blocking your vision this could be a sign of a a serious issue that you need to address immediately. Don't hesitate to call us or come in to have someone take a look at it.  Time is of the essence.

GLAUCOMA Evaluation

Glaucoma is one of those sneaky eye diseases that you may not notice until it is too late.  It usually involves an increase in the ocular pressure and slowly damages the optic nerve which can decrease your peripheral vision.  If this is caught early it can be treated and significantly slowed.  

Lasik Evaluations

We can give you our opinion and evaluate you for candidacy for lasik surgery.  If you ultimately decide to do lasik we can provide you with pre-op and post-op care and we work with the best lasik surgeons in the area to make sure you have the best results possible.

Comprehensive Eye Exams

If you need a new prescription for glasses or contacts or you just haven't had your annual eye exam, come in and have us take a look and make sure everything is going well.  Your eyes are the most important tools to help you navigate through life.  Don't take them for granted.

Diabetic Eye Exams

If you have been diagnosed with Diabetes or you have a strong family history of diabetes it is highly recommended that you get an annual diabetic eye exam which includes a dilated fundus exam.  Diabetes can cause serious eye problems including ultimate loss of vision.  We work with your endocrinologist or primary care doctor to monitor your retina for changes and make recommendations for surgery if necessary.

Macula Degeneration

Macula degeneration is a condition in which the tissue in the macula area which is essential for detailed central vision starts to deteriorate and starts to break down.  If you have a family history of macula degeneration it is important for you to get evaluated and treated early if there are signs. There have been several advances in the treatment of this condition in the last few years.  We work with the best retina specialist to get you the most up to date treatment.

Multi-Focal Contact Lens Fits

Some of the most difficult contact lens patients are the emerging presbyopes who until the age of 40 had no trouble with using contacts and having clear vision at all distances.  If you are currently using contacts in conjunction with reading glasses, we may be able to help you put the glasses down and still be able to see at distance and near with multi-focal or monovision contacts.  Dr. Howell has many satisfied patients who never thought they would be able to use contacts again.

Cataract Evaluation and pre-op/post-op care

Cataracts are a very common condition where the lens inside the eye goes from being clear to cloudy and makes it difficult for you to see and can cause glare and decreased vision.  Cataracts can easily be treated with surgery and has become a routine procedure.  We work with the best cataract surgeons in the area with pre-op and post-op care.

Dry Eye Evaluation

Dry eyes is one of the most common conditions affecting adults.  Usually this can be treated with just adding moisture eye drops to your daily routine.  If it becomes severe and requires more advanced treatment such as prescription eye drops or punctal plugs, we can evaluate you and let you know your best options.
