Diabetic Eye Exams
If you have been diagnosed with Diabetes or you have a strong family history of diabetes it is highly recommended that you get an annual diabetic eye exam which includes a dilated fundus exam. Diabetes can cause serious eye problems including ultimate loss of vision. We work with your endocrinologist or primary care doctor to monitor your retina for changes and make recommendations for surgery if necessary.
Macula degeneration is a condition in which the tissue in the macula area which is essential for detailed central vision starts to deteriorate and starts to break down. If you have a family history of macula degeneration it is important for you to get evaluated and treated early if there are signs. Multi-Focal Contact Lens Fits
Some of the most difficult contact lens patients are the emerging presbyopes who until the age of 40 had no trouble with using contacts and having clear vision at all distances. If you are currently using contacts in conjunction with reading glasses, we may be able to help you put the glasses down and still be able to see at distance and near with multi-focal or monovision contacts.
